Thirteen things about my kids that have contributed to my gray hair (with some pictorial evidence):
- Dylan was hospitalized when he was 2 with a really horrible case of rotovirus. Listening to your kid shriek while a catheter is inserted if incredibly awful.
- We were told that there was a small chance the Noah could have renal problems. We had to have an ultrasound on his kidneys when he was a week old. They didn't find any problems and he is now completely fine.
- When Noah was learning to sit up he would sometimes just lose all balance, tip over, and really clobber his head......on hardwood floors. It always gave him such a horrible bruise:

- Rollerblades:

- Somewhere around the age of 8 or 9, Dylan removed the Sponge Bob poster from his bedroom door and put up a poster of Britney Spears. (***Disclaimer so that Dylan doesn't kill me: He is now far too cool for the train wreck that is Britney....everyone is foolish at 9.)
- Both my kids seem to have some sort of INSANE need to leap down the last 3 or 4 or 8 steps on any set of stairs. Sometimes on rollerblades (see #4 above).
- Skateboards:

- Not surprisingly - given the pictures, Dylan is prone to the weirdest accidents. He once gave himself a concussion with a seashell. He once had a inch long twig embedded in his thigh for God knows how long - until it festered and exploded and came out...and he had no idea how it got there or anything....he said it didn't even hurt. He once fractured his pelvis while kicking a soccer ball and fractured his toe on the shifter on a 4-wheeler. I guess it's never too late for:

- Noah has been a nightmare to potty train. He's generally good during the day, but we still have to wake him and make him go to the bathroom at night. It's a pain in the butt. And:
- Noah has finally discovered the joy of video games. We have to restrict his time or I know he would sit there all night and fry his brain. He gets 1/2 hour. But the other night he didn't want to stop his game so he just sat there and crapped his pants. What. The. Hell????
- Dylan's first formal with a very hot girl two years older than him. I won't put her picture up since that's not my place, but he looked fantastic:

- The phrase: "16 year old with a driver's license."
- Their Dad:

In the interest of full disclosure I should mention that I don't have THAT much gray hair. But it is awfully distressing to find the horrible things. I am still at the stage where I can just tear them out, but pretty soon I'll be bald if I stay on that path. I hate girly maintenance stuff so dyeing it is out. Guess I'll just be gray *sigh*.

Nice list. Yes I think grey hair should be worn proudly. (even though I hide mine) I have 2 girls, almost 20 and almost 23. Yep been there. But thank god they weren't into the skateboarding. No broken bones, but alot of bruises. One's a dancer, the others a soccer player.
Happy TT!!
Ah..got to love them though..:) They will get their gray when they become parents. :)
i have found out all kinds of things that Zeke did involving roller blades and steep gravely roads, electric fences and buckets of water, trees, cars, you name it...And I am sure that Thor and Tess will fill me in someday on the dumb things they did...
Dylan washes up great!
Oh. My. Those were fun (easy for me to say from here, right?).
Oh my gosh those are hysterical..and yes..16, and hot in his suit.. Oh I do not look forward to that.
PS..health issues are not hysterical..you know what I mean..
Ah, the things our kids put us through...
Thanks for coming to visit my blog!
some of those made me feel like crying, some like laughing, you must be a great mom to have such a perspective :) thanks for dropping by!
God Love Them. I laughed so hard because I can see my future in some of those pictures.
Thanks for stopping by my TT
Boys are a handful and I'm surprised mine survived the teenage years. The laws of physics just didn't apply. Enjoyable read. Have a great TT. :)
Tasina, I laughed so hard without laughing out loud (everyone else in the room is watching a movie, and I didn't want to seem crazy..wait..I am!).
That was one heckuva list!!
Wow! I'm sprouting gray hairs for you! I'm such a wuss when it comes to things like skateboarding and doing tricks. That list was and title were hysterical!
I went with the gray. *sigh* And paid for it at the office too which in turn became a rant on my blog entitled "Rag Bag Girl Goes Free". Hopefully, you won't have to endure what I've had to! ;) Great TT! Thanks for coming by my blog!
Oh my, what a list! And remember parenting is FOREVER! I enjoyed reading this - and seeing the pics.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I should have included Michael Connelly; he's a mystery writer I enjoy too.
That's a good-looking family you have there. Your son does look very handsome. It's worrying when they get to that age...but they always come through!

That's ok, my seven year old crapped his pants because he didn't want to stop watching his movie the other day. It also took until he was 4 1/2 to potty train him. I thought he'd be the only kid in kindergarten in a pull up, but he just had to wait until he was ready. In one day he was totally trained. Our daughter, on the other hand, was potty trained before she was 3. Go figure.
Our kids are so going to kill us someday when they find these posts about themselves and ready them.
i am now going to let my gray hair grow out and not hide it. the last time i tried to color it , it turned a funky color and i am hoping it grows out quick. I used the same color and brand i have used for years and it is now turned a real dark brown. yuck. i am way too pale for this.
Awesome list.I enjoyed your list - I have a 14.5yr old who loves to jump stairs and is a skateboard freak.
I only have a few greys and have never dyed my hair - the day is looming haha with the twinadoes.
But it's all been worth it, right?
Skateboards have contributed to several of my gray hairs too.
#13 must be the biggest tribute to the gray hair! *LOL* Love your list!
Thanks for visiting my Dalai Lama TT.
