I was going to do thirteen things about my cats, but I decided to keep annoying Kat instead. I give you the thirteen worst songs/jingles to have stuck in your head (in no particular order):
- "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family....." Barney Theme Song
- The Macarena
- Mmmm Bop
- "Clap On (clap clap) Clap Off (clap clap) Clap On Clap Off. THE CLAPPER!!"
- "Dibee dobee de dooo....Three's Company too!!"
- Anything from a hair band, especially "Here I Go Again On My Own"
- Any Christmas song either a month before or a month after the actual holiday (especially "Gramma Got Run Over by a Reindeer").
- The Hustle - "do do do do do do do do do do do do....do the hustle!" Really any song that involves a long whistling section, see "Walk Like an Egyptian" and others.
- Patrick Swayze singing that annoying song in a horrible British accent to Whoopi Goldberg in "Ghost" to get her to talk to him. "I'm Henry the VIII I am I am....." something. Really anything sung by Patrick Swayze under any circumstance.
- That horrible Spice Girls song "Tell you what I want what I really really want...." Shudder.
- "Whoooooooooooooooooooooooo lives in a pineapple under the sea? SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS! Absorbent and yellow and porous is he. SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS! If nautical nonsense be something you wish, then drop on the deck and flop like a fish. SPONGE BOG SQUARE PANTS. SPONGE BOG SQUARE PANTS. SPONGE BOG SQUARE PANTS. SPONGE BOG SQUARE PANTS."
- Getting just PART of a song repeating endlessly in your head. I love Johnny Cash, but one day I had JUST the chorus of "Ring of Fire" going through my head over and over and I almost stuck a pen in my eye just for some variation. Jeff almost went home sick from work one day because he had just the "Oh Baby Baby" part of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears going through his head.
- The time-is-running-out-so-write-down-your-answer thingy from Jeopardy. This is especially annoying to hear when someone thinks they are being really cute and hums this to you while you try to do something. This may be grounds for justifiable gross bodily injury.

Nice! Thankfully, I've only heard of and seen Sponge Bob Load in the Pants Dude (though I've known a few...), but I've never heard the song. Mmmm Bop got me... I'm in an exceedingly fabulous mood today, though, so I kind of like it. Please pass me some more crack. Then do cat stuff. Kthxbai.
Heh. You are eeevil, but ineffective. To help you do better next time I'll explain the basic error to your approach. The genres were just a little off. Some of your prime irritant songs are kid related, and I have no kids. I have never had to sit through Barney, or Sponge Bob. The insipid pop songs are generally avoidable by not frequenting malls (I will love Amazon.com 'til the day I die for that reason alone), and I have never seen the movie Ghost, just on general principles. The Clapper song I will grant you is annoying, and I too hate having just a bit of any song stuck in my head, but the rest of your list is simply not jangling any nerves today. I'm sorry for being so uncooperative. Thanks for playing "Bug That Kat," though. We'll have some nice parting gifts for you on the way out. :-)
I thought the kid theme would exclude some people, but if you spent a NANOSECOND in my house, you'd hate those songs to.
Great list, but thanks to you I am now singing Spice Girls, and it won't stop in my brain!!!!
Ahhhhhhh. You ARE evil. Must not succumb....
"I can't get that outta my head"... any of those 13... and now that annoying Kylie Minogue beat as well.
Those were hilarious, BTW.
Very funny list, and SO true. I can't believe you missed "It's a Small World" though. I thought that one was universally hated for that very reason, but maybe it's just inside my own head.
Another one for me - Zombie. You know, the one that goes, "In your head, it's in your he-e-e-ead. Zombie. Zom-bie. Zom-bie-ie-ie." Maybe it's just me.
You got me signing along on all of them..it's 10am..if I'm STILL singing along at 4:30 I'm going to come back and kick your cyber booty!
The song that always used to get stuck in my head..and STILL does is My Sharona (the Knack)..do do do do do do do do dodo do..I find my self tapping my pen on the desk..
I actually read this with one eye while trying to think about other things, because I get enough stupid songs in my head courtesy of my children...
You are evil. I am so impressed...
Dang it! I should have left well enough alone, and not come back to read the comments. Small World and My Sharona got me, and it's still morning too. Wah.
I feel kind of guilty now. I'll have to a warm and fuzzy post next week.
Or will I??? (she said, twisting her hands together and chuckling in an evil way)
You made me laugh. My kids were addicted to Barney when they were small and I used to walk around humming that song! I had totally forgotten about that!!!
I'm a closet MMMBop fan, though! That song always cheers me up!
Happy TT

I'm immune. I don't know any of those. Phew!
Ha ha - this post just keeps getting more fun, and I don't even know why we're picking on kat.
Anyway, tasina, I just dropped in to make sure you know I answered your question about browser stats back at my blog and didn't know if you'd check back and see it.
k. We're picking on Kat because my last TT was titled "Let's Get Physical" and she got that song stuck in her head and had the temerity to complain about it!!! Also because Kat is ultimately cool and fun and gives back as good as she gets (or maybe better).
Ha. I have to agree with all of these. And I really, really hate it when I can only think of part of a song but can't get it out of my head. Sigh.
